As an Industry Advisor - Capital Markets , you will have the opportunity to lead industry-focused sales for Microsoft with assigned accounts in Capital Markets Industry (sell-side, buy-side, markets Infrastructures, data and analytics). This role is responsible for originating sales and driving industry-led conversations with clients. Accountabilities include developing and winning market-making opportunities that deliver customer value and enabling transformational customer outcomes. You will be the Industry subject matter point person, engaging with business and executive decision makers to identify, generate and nurture new line of business opportunities. You will articulate and position strategic business value and long-term positive results of using Microsoft's cloud, data and AI platforms, solutions and partners , collaborating with your peers to successfully close deals as well as land market making, multi-horizon business partnerships.

Responsibilities
Industry Leadership & Strategic Planning
Serve as a trusted industry advisor on digital and Artificial Intelligence (AI) transformation, bringing a multi-year strategic perspective to account and partner planning.
Provide thought leadership on global industry trends; evangelize Microsoft industry strategies in local markets and priority accounts.
Drive stakeholder mapping to identify and influence key decision makers and partners, including Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and Global Systems Integrators (GSIs).
Lead multi-horizon planning and create industry-focused roadmaps aligned to customer business and technology priorities.
Executive Engagement
Build and maintain relationships with senior executive stakeholders.
Apply deep understanding of customer business strategy, market dynamics, and technology trends to guide decisions and transformation journeys.
Sales Execution
Identify customer needs and industry readiness for Microsoft solutions.
Originate and develop opportunities leveraging industry best practices; create demand in complex business scenarios.
Collaborate with Account Team Units (ATUs) and internal stakeholders to build pipeline and conduct market research.
Drive execution of global plays and identify repeatable use cases for scale.
Solution Development & Value Creation
Design industry-specific solution scenarios that deliver measurable business outcomes.
Lead strategic discussions with board-level stakeholders to define end-state visions and demonstrate competitive advantage.
Create compelling business cases with strong Return on Investment (ROI) and incubate early-stage opportunities for large-scale transformation.
Showcase customer success stories and industry exemplars to expand adoption.
Collaboration & Partner Management
Orchestrate engagements with internal teams and partners to design and deliver innovative solutions.
Drive go-to-market strategies and recruit new partners; guide development of industry-aligned solutions.
Collaborate with Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD) teams, solution architects, and legal teams to establish partnerships and execute pilots.
Industry Knowledge
Maintain deep knowledge of industry trends, policy implications, and competitive landscape to inform strategy and solution development.
Share insights across teams to influence product evolution and remove sales blockers.
Represent Microsoft at industry forums and customer communities; mentor colleagues to build industry expertise.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Education, Finance, Business or related field AND 3+ years customer-facing experience in operations, enterprise-level improvement program management, product management, transportation, hospitality, automotive, consumer goods, financial services, retail, management consulting, consultative selling, public sector, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience
OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Education, Finance Business or related field AND 5+ years customer-facing experience in operations, enterprise-level improvement program management, product management, transportation, hospitality, automotive, consumer goods, financial services, retail, management consulting, consultative selling, public sector, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience
OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
5+ years experience in consultative sales and advisory capacity either directly in Capital Markets Industry [e.g., financial markets Infrastructures, data and analytics providers, Payments, Wealth management, digital assets, Private Equity (PE) firms, Hedge Funds] or Enterprise technology, Fintech or Consultancies firms serving Capital Markets Industry driving digital transformation via Cloud, data and AI offerings.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 10+ years customer-facing experience in financial services, or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience
OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field AND 7+ customer-facing experience in financial services, management consulting, consultative selling, , technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience
OR equivalent experience.
5+ years proven people management and/or leadership experience.
Industry Advisory IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $107,600 - $187,500 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,600 - $205,600 per year.
