Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Responsibilities Manages and controls the use of data related to these programs regarding day to day functioning and program evaluation. In conjunction with the Service Chief, plans, organizes, and directs administrative, operational, patient and personnel activities for the service. Serves as program coordinator at the GS-12 grade and is administratively responsible for a clinic program providing treatment to patients in a major specialty, such as Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Visual Impairment Services Team (VIST), Homeless Veterans Program (HVP), Community Nursing Home Program (CNHP) and other specialized programs. Develops and implements information systems to track service activities including visits, referrals, inpatient days, patient demographics, equipment utilization and patient satisfaction. Supervises a group of employees performing work at various GS levels up to their own grade and provides administrative, technical, and clinical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit. Performs the administrative and personnel management function relative to staff supervised. Resolves informal complaints and grievances. Observes workers' performance demonstrates and conducts work performance critiques. Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff, which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system. Performs clinical duties and maintain a caseload as assigned. Exercises supervisory authority and responsibility involving work assignments and review, as well as the administrative and personnel management functions relative to the staff supervised. Performs program analysis, development, review, research, design, and contact work as possible with various agencies (public, DoD, state, etc.). Licensure/Certification: Individuals assigned as social worker program coordinator must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs: Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring. Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program. Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program. Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s). Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice.
