Summary We are seeking a Administrative Officer for the Department of Nursing Geriatrics and Extended Care Services, at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. Responsible for coordinating and monitoring all administrative programs within Nursing and serves as a key advisor to leadership. The incumbent applies analytical and evaluative methods, along with specialized management principles, to support clinical operations and ensure compliance with VA policies and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Coordinates and monitors administrative operations for Nursing GECS, ensuring alignment with VA policies and clinical directives. Develops and implements internal procedures to improve efficiency and compliance. Advises the Chief of Nursing GECS and other leadership on administrative, financial, and personnel matters. Participates in budget planning, formulation, and execution; monitors fund control points and reconciles expenditures. Tracks and ensures compliance with all mandatory regulatory and licensing requirements. Prepares reports, data summaries, and briefings for leadership and external regulatory agencies. Supports accreditation readiness and compliance with agencies such as JCAHO, OIG, OSHA, and CDC. Serves as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for equipment and service procurements. Prepares and reviews procurement documentation, including purchase orders and cost justifications. Manages HR-related functions such as licensure tracking, personnel file maintenance, and organizational support. Coordinates responses to audits, investigations, and inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. Establishes internal controls and tracking systems for deadlines, reports, and departmental actions.
