Remote can be considered with additional travel requirements.

Job Purpose

Develop and lead long-term relationships with key accounts, drive innovation, and align technical solutions with customer business objectives. Drive growth and strengthen tactical partnerships by bridging business strategies and technical execution.

Essential Functions

Serve as the primary point of contact for major customers, ensuring high-level satisfaction and cultivating long-term partnerships

Lead and manage a technical sales team to achieve operational and strategic objectives

Act as a senior technical advisor, providing expert technical advice and developing deep integrations to solve complex customer challenges

Drive innovation by understanding customer needs, translating them into actionable technical plans and sales strategies, and launching new solutions that provide a strong return on investment

Work with Sales teams to drive pre-sales activities, architect solutions, identify new opportunities, and secure new revenue streams

Interface with senior clients, functional experts, and internal teams to ensure successful project and program lifecycle management

Translate business needs into technical plans, using data-driven approaches to solve problems and make strategic decisions

Schedule and conduct internal and external focused ideation sessions and plant visits

Stay current with industry trends, utilizing multiple platforms, including social media; communicate findings regularly to Marketing and R&D teams to guide development

Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and present new ideas and programs, ensuring best-in-class service and speed to market, and providing innovation aligning with customer operational boundaries

Assist with quality sample management and execution

Assist in reporting/handling product complaints and incident reports from the customer to the platform, communicating potential action items to QA and Sales leaders

Ensure regulatory requirements are clearly communicated, accurately interpreted, and promptly relayed to appropriate teams

Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products

Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

Bachelor's degree in food science, food engineering, or similar technical field

5+ years in technical sales or related roles, food and/or beverage industry preferred

Excellent strategic planning and problem-solving abilities

Strong customer-facing and relationship-building skills

Proven ability to lead and influence across multiple departments

Proven people management skills, including coaching, providing constructive feedback, and effectively resolving conflicts to enhance team performance

Ability to develop talent through mentorship, performance management, and career development planning

Demonstrated ability to build and sustain an inclusive, engaged team culture that fosters collaboration, innovation, and employee growth

Experience facilitating all stages of the product development life cycle, including deep technical expertise in company products and solutions

Knowledge of product formulations and modification techniques

Experience with CRM or account planning tools

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office

Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Ability to effectively communicate with multi-level personnel as well as suppliers, customers, and their representatives

Ability to work cross-functionally, convey complex issues, and maintain confidentiality

Detail oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize, show flexibility, and multi-task to execute simultaneous projects and activities to meet objectives and deadlines

Ability to think quickly and handle frequent change

Self-motivated, goal oriented, quality driven, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, Washington, D.C. Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $123,000 to $140,000 annually. Pay is based upon several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Rise Baking Company complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your annual salary, Rise Baking Company offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, annual bonus eligibility, incentive and recognition programs and 401k contributions (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
