Overview
The Windows and Devices Organization is anchored on delivering modern customer experiences through software, devices, and experiences to scale Microsoft's Consumer Products platform. We partner with key stakeholders to plan future product strategy and evolve their business models to deliver sustainable long-term growth. As the Finance Director of Consumer Supply Chain, you will perform a key role in planning the strategy, execution of optimizing sourcing decisions, and implementing AI workloads to drive our Devices business.
You will lead the Finance team responsible for sourcing strategy and execution across Microsoft's Devices portfolio-including Surface PCs, Xbox, and emerging products. This director-level role partners with Supply Chain leadership to connect operational metrics with financial outcomes, optimize margins, and drive business success throughout the product lifecycle. The position also oversees long-range planning, annual budgeting, and monthly forecasting for consolidated material spend, and is a critical stakeholder in strategic actions impacting inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS).

Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & People Management
Build and empower a high-performing finance team, modeling Microsoft's culture, and leadership principles.
Define team objectives, coach across boundaries, and invest in the growth of others.
Attract and inspire talent, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Sourcing Strategy & Execution
Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize cost, lead time, and margin across devices.
Set targets and create pathways to achieve sourcing objectives, leveraging advanced tools and technology.
Drive process modernization, automation, and standardization to improve effectiveness and user experience.
Financial Planning & Analysis
Lead long-range planning, annual budgeting, and quarterly forecasting for device material spend.
Advise leadership on financial impact of alternatives and recommend preferred actions.
Transform financial analytics, reporting, and leadership influence to drive business outcomes.
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with business and operations leaders to drive ROI and shareholder return.
Gain commitment from stakeholders, align execution, and mitigate risk.
Facilitate shared understanding and awareness of business partner situations.
Risk Management & Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to Microsoft policies on risk and compliance.
Direct financial control processes, identify and mitigate risks, and instill a compliant culture.
Analytics, Tools, and Process Optimization
Establish new AI workloads across our sourcing process footprint.
Manage and interpret complex data sources to provide business insights and inform supply chain decisions.
Oversee dashboard creation, process improvements, and automation for inventory and supply analysis.
Lead identification of gaps and root cause analysis to drive business improvements.
Supply Planning & Strategy
Independently develops and influences forward or reverse supply plans of increasing scope, scale, and size of decisions. Collaborates with team to determine raw materials buffers and flexibility to absorb fluctuations in demand. Collaborates and promotes alignment of plans; cross-functional relationships (e.g., Finance, other partners).
Conducts analysis and determines "what-if" scenarios impacting supply and demand management for forward and reverse planning. Support and help lead contingency plans and impact assessments. Drives allocation processes.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Engineering or related field AND 8+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain Management or related field AND 10+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
1+ year(s) experience managing direct reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of post-graduate experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, supply planning, or related roles.
Experience in electronics/ technology industry, supply chain, or procurement roles.
Proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and data analytics.
Financial Analysis M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
