Position Summary:**
As a Lead Director of Enterprise Finance Outreach and Adoption, you serve as a strategic partner within the Enterprise Finance Strategy and Operations team responsible for translating financial performance, strategic priorities and transformation objectives into clear, compelling communications. By aligning messaging with both business objectives and emerging financial trends, this role allows you to ensure that communications not only inform but also inspire stakeholder confidence and support for the company's long-term direction and finance modernization efforts.
As a Lead Director, your success will be driven by your combined strategic financial acumen with exceptional storytelling, presentation development and change communication expertise. You play a pivotal role in shaping the financial narrative to influence decision-making, align stakeholders around a common vision and set of priorities, and drive action at all levels, including the C-suite, board of directors and the broader investment community.
This high-profile role impacts enterprise alignment, understanding and performance management of enterprise finance results and transformation initiatives. The work requires understanding of CVS Health business segments and the health care industry, sound judgement, critical thinking, and diligent focus on quality and accuracy in the production of executive-level deliverables that are often highly confidential and/or competitively proprietary. Your high degree of maturity, professionalism and proven skill and comfort level in establishing/cultivating partnerships across the enterprise to stay abreast of key operational and financial developments will also contribute to your success.
Job Duties (% Time & Responsibilities):
30% - Develop and lead communication strategies that translate complex financial data, analysis and initiatives into engaging, easily understood stories and visuals for a variety of audiences to ensure clarity, consistency, alignment with Enterprise Finance objectives and efforts.
20% - Partner with Corporate Finance team to lead development of narratives and materials that communicate and support functional priorities and initiatives such as financial planning, business segment performance, financial forecasting, multiyear financial outlook, expense management principles, enterprise pricing processes and total shareholder return framework and metrics. Includes leading the development of executive-level financial presentations for quarterly business reviews, board meetings, key internal meetings (e.g., executive and finance leadership team meetings, steering and operating committee updates, and town halls) and other communication resources (videos, talking points, toolkits, road shows, online forums) to drive awareness of initiatives, educate about change impacts, influence decision-making and adoption, and clarify / align on deliverables.
20% - Partner with Finance Optimization team to lead development of narratives and materials that communicate and support functional priorities and initiatives such as the Finance modernization ("future of work") strategy; transformation roadmap, work streams, timelines, milestones and change impacts to drive transparency and understanding of the case for change, approach, and calls to action. Includes leading the development of executive-level presentations for board meetings, key internal meetings (e.g., executive and finance leadership team meetings, steering and operating committee updates, and town halls) and other communication resources (videos, talking points, toolkits, road shows, online forums, training materials) to educate, influence decision-making, and ensure readiness for change implementation.
10% - Collaborate with Corporate Communications to influence CFO messaging on key department-led initiatives, milestones, and accomplishments, as appropriate.
15% - Champion a culture of transparency and understanding by improving two-way flow of information across the team and with key stakeholders to improve how financial insights and strategies are communicated across Finance.
5% - Develop high-performing team by clearly communicating strategic direction, providing ongoing performance feedback, fostering professional development, and responding to annual engagement survey feedback, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience
Willingness to travel up to 10% (including plane)
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft Office suite, including Teams and SharePoint environments
Developing expertly tailored communication plans for a broad array of stakeholders that drive business decisions, clarify objections, facilitate alignment amongst teams, highlight changes, educate, and incite action.
Navigating self, team and stakeholders through a changing work environment
Demonstrating intellectual curiosity and being a "quick study" to effectively grasp the subject matter to effectively position outreach and adoption approaches.
Translating complex business plans and operational/financial results into clear, succinct and compelling storylines, appropriately tailored to varying audience interests (e.g., employees vs. investment community) to gain maximum attention and retention from stakeholders
Driving complex project management milestones and deliverables, in collaboration with a multitude of colleagues in a highly matrixed organization while adhering to enterprise deadlines for highly visible and critical meetings/events
Staying organized as priorities shift and needs evolve while maintaining impeccable attention to detail
Receiving and providing feedback for ongoing improvement and role clarification
Clarifying roles and responsibilities and inspiring followership through strong leadership
Work collaboratively in a highly matrixed environment and build partnerships with key constituents of varying professional levels (e.g., Investor Relations, business segment, Enterprise Finance leaders) to gain trust, input, feedback, understanding and/or buy-in on key processes, expectations and/or deliverables
Effectively collaborate with business partners to manage outcomes and marshal resources where and when needed
Previous finance communications experience in publicly traded Fortune 500 company
Previous experience developing narratives and outreach as part of large-scale change/transformation efforts
Healthcare, PBM, insurance industry helpful but not required
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of related professional work experience may substitute
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
