Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Accountant to support a local customer in San Antonio. This Accountant will

use tax and property tax returns for all legal entities from compile source data to reviewing filed tax returns.

This person will ensure accurate tax data integration with the general ledger and processes payment requests from third-party preparers. This role conducts tax research, provides taxability guidance to stakeholders, and responds to inquiries in the tax mailbox within 48 hours. Responsibilities include drafting and updating desktop procedures, filing and tracking business licenses, and submitting refund claims for accounts receivable tax. The specialist reviews, approves, and enters tax exemptions into the tax determination system while troubleshooting purchase order taxability issues. Additional duties involve managing compliance across all states, completing sales and use tax audits from initiation to resolution, and implementing process improvements within the department. The position ensures timely and accurate financial reporting to prevent penalties and maintains assigned GL account reconciliations to mitigate financial risk. The role also supports departmental projects, taking a lead role in planning, coordinating, and driving initiatives to completion.

Skills and Requirements

2-5 years of experience specifically within Tax Accounting

Bachelors degree with a focus in Accounting or Finance

In-depth understanding of GAAP Accounting

Knowledge of SOX controls & compliance requirements

2-5 years of hands on experience working with Sabrix and/or Vertex - CPA Certification

Lean Six Sigma Certification

Knowledge of EDI Capabilities
