SUMMARY
Teaching, orienting, coaching employees responsible for different aspects of diagnostic imaging care of patients as well as assessing and validating clinical competencies. The DI Tech Educator also serves as a consultant for clinical diagnostic imaging practice and performance
Shift Hours: Based on business needs. Typically, Monday - Friday / 0800 - 1700. Must be flexible to work various shifts and days.
Ideal Candidate: Will be able to travel to each Diagnostic Imaging Center as needed. Have extensive experience as a Mammographer. Have ARRT in Mammography. Have experience as a Trainer/Preceptor and/or Lead.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Performance Consultant
Serves as a performance consultant for assigned clinical areas of responsibility.
a. Orients and socializes new Diagnostic Imaging employees to the clinical areas providing appropriate learning opportunities.
b. Collaborates with leadership to select appropriate coaches for learners.
c. Provides an individualized learning plan for learners monitoring their progress and meeting with them frequently to discuss
achievement of goals.
d. Assesses learning/development needs of individual staff and groups of staff in collaboration with the imaging management
team.
e. Analyzes patterns/trends in performance.
f. Develops action/learning plans to address gaps in clinical performance.
g. Mentors modality coaches in their role of supporting learners in various modalities.
h. Identifies high risk/problem prone/low frequency competencies in collaboration with the modality leadership and develops strategies
for assessing these competencies.
i. Participates in the assessment of house wide and modality-based competencies of staff.
j. Demonstrates documentation standards in documenting learner progress.
k. Communicates learner progress to leadership team on a regular basis and provides completed documentation within one week of
employee's completion of learning experience.
Education Design, Implementation & Evaluation Education Design, Implementation & Evaluatio n
a. Considers needs of the targeted individual/groups of individuals when designing educational offerings.
b. Designs sound educational offerings that:
-Address the assessed needs.
-Outline well-constructed educational objectives.
-Deliver content that is organized and evidence-based.
-Apply adult learning principles effectively.
-Incorporate strategies to address a variety of learning styles of participating individuals.
-Utilize teaching methods that are congruent with objectives.
c. Coordinates offering of programs with modality(ies) activity/work flow and staffing challenges in mind.
d. Demonstrates competency in the presentation of the offering, incorporating sound presentation standards.
e. Incorporates, at minimum, the first two of the four levels of education evaluation in all designed offerings.
f. Utilizes evaluation feedback to improve the quality of future educational offerings.
g. Ensures instructional integrity and application of content to the profession of imaging as it relates to functioning as a technologist
planner for Continuing Education activities.

a. Demonstrates knowledge of policies, procedures, practice and regulatory standards and suggests strategies for improving
compliance.
b. Supports and aligns goals with those of Technologist Education, Department of Diagnostic Imaging and the Institution.
c. Role models professional behavior including:

Service orientation intra and interdepartmentally, including collegiality and collaboration as a team member in DI as well
as in other teams outside the department.
Professional practice of standards, policies and standard operating procedures.
Approaches all changes, obstacles, difficulties with a professional demeanor and works to ensure that he/she
demonstrates support for changes, serving as a change agent and champion of performance improvement projects in the
department.
Is a good steward of resources including productive use of time, demonstrating accountability for cost effectiveness and
efficiency.
d. Practices responsiveness, responding to requests for services in a timely manner, following-through appropriately and/or
visibility in assigned areas sufficient to satisfy customers' needs.
e. Accepts feedback from colleagues, modality leadership, learners and other customers in a non-defensive way and utilizes the feedback
for the purpose of improving personal performance and services
f. Participates in PI activities in the department and when appropriate, the Division of Diagnostic Imaging.
g. Leads/facilitates and participates in committees, task forces as assigned, using sound facilitation skills, executing actions to
obtain desired outcomes by deadline dates, evaluating the quality and quantity of outcomes.
h. Documents educational activities according to department standards.

EDUCATION
Required: Graduate of a Radiology Technology, Ultrasound Technology, or Nuclear Medicine Technology program. or
Required: Associate's Degree Applied science.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required: 4 years Relevant clinical or research imaging experience to include two years of education or leadership experience. or
Required: 2 years Clinical or research imaging experience to include two years of education or leadership experience, with preferred degree.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required: CMRT - Cert Medical Radiologic Tech Licensure by the Texas Medical Board (TMB). Upon Hire and
Required: ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Upon Hire and
