Position Overview:
Centrally manages a range of strategic supply chain functions at the system level. Responsibilities may include oversight of data analytics, purchasing, demand planning, contracting, sourcing, technical integrations, quality assurance, compliance, training oversight, master data management and inventory redistribution. Translates system-level director objectives into goals and projects for subordinate supervisors or other individual contributors. Establishes and monitors systemic protocols to increase product delivery, create efficiencies, enhance affiliate performance, reduce error rates, minimize non-value added work, right-size the item master and deliver appropriate services on-time. Builds professional relationships between affiliate senior leaders, senior supply chain leaders and clinical leaders through exceptional job performance, and professional grade communication. Creates and delegates high-level projects and tasks in conjunction with system-level directors to maintain an efficient, cost effective process that meets the long term vision of supply chain's senior leaders. Seeks out and leverages strategic partnerships and articulates supply chain objectives to a wide-variety of key stakeholders. May act as backup for system-level directors to advance strategic projects that impact the full range of supply chain operations across all affiliates.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Operations
Oversees all Supply Chain functions within individual facility or across multiple facilities.
Manages and integrates services, resources (staff, space, equipment, supplies, etc.) and programs to ensure high quality, cost-effective services for assigned areas.
Ensures Supply Chain procedures and systems are functioning at optimal levels and regularly evaluates processes for continuous improvement.
Directs and implements policies and procedures related to Supply Chain achieving standardization as much as possible.
Assures quality service indicators are established, routine monitors are performed and adequate follow-up of identified quality problems.
Supports development of annual Supply Chain goals and objectives and ensures they are achieved, and services are integrated, optimally coordinated, and support the Sutter Health's mission and objectives.
Strategy/Planning
Continually monitors quality of service provided and effectively initiates changes as needed.
Supports deployment of strategic plans and prioritizes Supply Chain services.
Analyzes, determines, and coordinates service improvement and/or service development opportunities.
Develops improved techniques and practices that will enhance services.
Leads departmental goal setting process and provides roadmap for accomplishing goals.
Develops plan of action to address current and future resource needs in order to meet service and/or operational demands and objectives.
Financial Management
Ensures the cost-effective operation of all departments within the Supply Chain System. Utilizes routine monitoring and reporting systems for operating budgets and productivity. Makes sure corrective action plans are implemented promptly to address unfavorable variances.
Supports development of departmental budgets for Supply Chain operations. May assist with forecasting supply and service costs for other department budgets. Identifies and implements cost savings initiatives. Utilizes routine tracking and monitoring systems to ensure identified cost savings are achieved.
Manages annual supply inventory counts and reporting.
May participate in internal and external audit processes under the guidance of the Accounting Department.
Produces routine (e.g. monthly and annual) monitoring and management reports for assigned affiliate(s) and locations (e.g. cost savings tracking; monthly financial reports, etc.).
People
Develops and motivates assigned staff to actively support and participate in affiliate objectives and initiatives.
Team Building: creates creative, participative methods and forums that will build staff "team" efforts.
Establishes expectations with all direct reports, holds individuals and work teams accountable, and ensures job descriptions accurately reflect job responsibilities and expectations.
Provides opportunities for career development, role expansion, and cross-training.
Monitors department training and orientation plans, ensuring staff meets competency requirements and participates in appropriate education and training programs.
EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Bachelor's: Business Administration, Healthcare, or related field
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
8 years of recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Demonstrated success in major project coordination and implementation of successful cost containment initiatives.
Extensive knowledge of Materials Management/Supply Chain Management and other related functions in acute or alternate healthcare settings. Knowledge of healthcare products and equipment, inventory sources, alternate sources of supply and distribution systems, and new or emerging trends in the industry.
Ability to coordinate processes for numerous sites over a wide geographical area and to prioritize multiple demands and projects is critical.
Ability to handle complex situations and a large degree of variation in policies, rules, and regulations.
Project management and presentation skills are essential. Requires a high degree of initiative and ability to work independently in order to meet deadlines and implement projects.
Meeting deadlines and implementing unplanned projects are an integral part of the work responsibilities.
Proven written and verbal communication skills including interpersonal skills.
Team leadership and organizational skill.

Pay Range is $66.77 to $100.16 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package. ?
