Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Back Office Medical Assistant to support a Specialty Physician. The role involves patient check-in and check-out, taking vitals, and logging information into the EMR/EHR system (NexGen). You will verify insurance and cover the front desk during the receptionist's lunch break. Additionally, you will be cross-trained across all departments.

Responsibilities

Assist the Specialty Physician with back office duties.

Check in and check out patients, ensuring all necessary information is recorded accurately.

Take and record patient vitals.

Log patient information into the EMR/EHR system (NexGen).

Verify patient insurance details.

Cover the front desk when the receptionist is unavailable.

Cross-train in all departments of the Family Practice.

Essential Skills

1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.

Proficiency in appointment scheduling and electronic health records.

Experience with NexGen EMR system.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Phlebotomy skills are a plus.

Bilingual in Spanish.

Open to candidates with 6 months of experience or externs.

Must pass a basic knowledge test after the interview.

Work Environment

The position is based in a Primary Care Clinic operating from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, with no weekend shifts. The clinic is part of a large physician-led network committed to quality healthcare. Employees are part of a team dedicated to health, wellness, and happiness, working in a compassionate and supportive environment. Holiday pay is offered after 30 days of employment. The clinic hosts 8 providers, each seeing 15-20 patients per day.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Covina, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
