Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Kansas City, Missouri. In this role, you will oversee essential accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance within financial operations. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail and extensive experience in reconciliation and general ledger management.

Responsibilities:

Perform month-end closing activities, including preparation and review of journal entries.

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy.

Conduct detailed account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and cash accounts.

Ensure timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies within financial accounts.

Prepare financial reports and summaries as required.

Support audit processes by providing documentation and clarification.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting inquiries and improve processes.

Monitor expense accounts and ensure proper categorization.

Review daily financial transactions to ensure compliance with established guidelines. Requirements - Proven experience in month-end close activities and general ledger management.

Expertise in performing account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and cash accounts.

Strong knowledge of financial reconciliation processes.

Proficiency in analyzing and resolving discrepancies in accounting records.

Familiarity with preparing financial reports and supporting audits.

Advanced understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
