Duties: Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center seeks Associate Professor in Cincinnati, OH to provide high-quality anesthetic care for pediatric patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic procedures, including those requiring cardiopulmonary bypass and mechanical circulatory support. The faculty position also entails active participation in clinical research, academic teaching, and program development within the Heart Institute and the Department of Anesthesiology. Specific duties and responsibilities include: Delivering safe, effective, and compassionate anesthetic care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents undergoing congenital cardiac procedures; Providing expert intraoperative and perioperative management, including preoperative evaluation, induction and maintenance of anesthesia, and postoperative pain control for cardiac patients; Collaborating with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, perfusionists, and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes; Serving as a consultant in pediatric cardiac anesthesia, including the provision of second opinions and subspecialty referrals; Contributing to the development of advanced cardiac anesthetic protocols and quality improvement initiatives; Teaching and supervising medical students, residents, and fellows in the operating room, ICU, and other clinical settings; Preparing and delivering regular didactic teaching sessions in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology; Evaluating and mentoring trainees to ensure clinical excellence and professional development; Participating in and leading research in areas such as cardiopulmonary bypass, postoperative outcomes, pharmacology, and congenital heart disease; Publishing original research, reviews, or book chapters in the field of pediatric cardiac anesthesia; Participating in clinical trials and other scholarly investigations related to pediatric cardiac anesthesiology; Contributing to national recognition through presentations, publications, and participation in professional societies; Assisting in the design and implementation of clinical care programs distinctive to cardiac anesthesiology at a regional and national level; Engaging in faculty development and fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture; Participating in peer review, manuscript editing, and clinical guidelines development within the field. Requirements: M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree. Unrestricted medical license issued by the State of Ohio and DEA license. Completion of residency in anesthesiology either in the U.S. or abroad. Completion of fellowship in international pediatric anesthesiology or pediatric anesthesiology in the U.S. Completion of fellowship in pediatric cardiac anesthesia in the U.S. Professional knowledge and clinical ability sufficient to provide cardiac anesthesia care for pediatric and adult patients of congenital heart diseases.
