Job Title: Senior AccountantJob Description

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, while contributing to departmental and organizational projects. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting practices, as well as the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with monthly financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.

Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules.

Analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month-end close and resolve any outstanding accounting issues, including open reconciling items, in a timely manner.

Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules.

Understand and analyze Intercompany transactions.

Prepare bank reconciliations.

Prepare various sales reports and KPI reports.

Maintain fixed assets and depreciation calculations and analyses.

Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.

Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met.

Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.

Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.

Essential Skills

QuickBooks experience is required.

A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a staff or senior accountant role.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking on new tasks with a high level of difficulty.

Effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Planning and organizing skills.

Strategic and tactical thinking abilities.

Effective communication skills.

Problem identification and analysis.

Excellent teamwork skills.

Advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles.

Knowledge of auditing practices and principles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of Lease Accounting ASC 842 is a plus.

Experience and knowledge of M&A is a plus.

Ability to be flexible and adjust project priorities as needs arise.

Excel skills: pivot tables, vlookups, and SUMifs.

Experience with acquisition accounting is strongly preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment is collaborative and feedback-driven, fostering coaching and development. The position requires working with various technologies, including QuickBooks and advanced Excel functionalities such as pivot tables and vlookups. The role involves engaging with all major functional leaders and requires flexibility to adapt to changing project priorities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $50.48/hr.
