We are currently looking for a Crane Operations Manager to join our dynamic, fast-paced, and growing team. The Crane Operations Manager will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and inspection of Rhoads Industries' crane and drydock systems. This role ensures all lifting operations meet regulatory and safety standards while supporting the broader maritime team with dock operations.

What You Will Be Doing

Maintain comprehensive crane logs and operational records.

Conduct monthly block and hook inspections to ensure equipment integrity and safety.

Perform and document annual and quadrennial inspections for certification of the 50-ton portal cranes at Rhoads' drydock and pier.

Oversee all lifting operations conducted by the maritime team, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies.

Manage drydock operations, including floating and setting the caisson, assisting in flooding and dewatering activities, and supporting the construction and placement of dock blocks for drydocking evolutions.

Collaborate with internal teams to maintain compliance with OSHA, NAVSEA, and other applicable safety and certification standards.

Provide technical guidance, leadership, and oversight to ensure all crane and drydock operations are executed safely and efficiently.

Additional duties as assigned.

Your Background

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate's or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marine Operations, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.

NCCCO (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) or equivalent crane certification strongly preferred.

Additional training or certifications in rigging, OSHA safety standards, or maritime operations a plus.

Minimum of 5--7 years of experience in crane operations, heavy lift, or maritime industrial environments.

Strong knowledge of crane certification requirements, rigging practices, and applicable safety regulations.

Demonstrated experience managing or supervising lifting and drydock operations.

Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and safety management skills.

The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats and hearing protection is required.
