As the Native Language Revitalization Grant Coordinator for the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), you will analyze, recommend, and assist in the development of systems and policies to coordinate and administer the Native Language Revitalization Grant initiatives. Duties will include:
Assist in the development and refinement of competitive grant opportunity documents, ensuring alignment with program objectives and strategic priorities;
Screen and review application forms and supporting materials to verify compliance with program goals, state statutes, and federal procurement regulations;
Oversee the full lifecycle of the competitive grant process - from initial planning and development of solicitation materials through final award decisions and documentation;
Coordinate and facilitate grant review panels, including scheduling, training reviewers, and ensuring consistency and fairness in evaluations;
Compile, analyze, and summarize review results, and support the communication of outcomes to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner;
Maintain regular contact and conduct outreach with grantees, school districts, charter schools, and tribally controlled schools to provide guidance, support, and ensure ongoing alignment with program expectations.
Minimum Qualifications

Five (5) years of professional experience in K-12 Education Systems
OR
A bachelor's or master's degree and four (4) years of professional experience in K-12 Education Systems
Experience should include:
Experience designing, evaluating or implementing culturally responsive and standards-aligned curriculum, with a focus on meeting diverse student needs and promoting educational equity.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage educational programs, including planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
Experience managing budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
Track record of advocating for program goals and student success, including the ability to communicate program impact, secure support, and influence decision-making at multiple levels.
Experience developing and executing outreach strategies to engage families, communities, and partners.
Ability to provide strategic guidance, coaching, and technical assistance to schools, districts, or community partners to support effective program implementation and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
Deep understanding of Indigenous language revitalization, including its cultural significance and the role it plays in community identity and healing.
Proficiency in an Indigenous language, or demonstrable progress toward fluency.
Experience developing or implementing systems that support language acquisition and progression toward fluency, including pathways for training fluent speakers to become licensed language teachers.
Knowledge of educational systems, particularly in creating or revising processes that support the development on language speakers and educators.
Commitment to culturally respectful practices, including awareness of the potential harm in misusing Indigenous languages (e.g., inappropriate naming practices or superficial use of language for performative purposes).
