Summary This position serves as a Property Manager in the Material Management Division of the Logistics Service in the VA Health Care System responsible for the inventory and lifecycle management of all expendable equipment in the assigned area(s). Responsibilities Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Coordinates with property managers for disposal of surplus or excess supplies. Administers an expendable inventory management program. Performs analytical work to manage, regulate, coordinate and exercise control over expendable supplies. Advises and informs stakeholders concerning the management, control and accountability of expendable items in use. Search for and research information. Researches and develops solutions to complex and routine problems. Ability to use bar code scanning equipment and appropriate tagging equipment for inventory control purposes. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/04/2025. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. Specialized experience would typically include: Acting as a central point of contact for the coordination of material support and the resolution of logistics problems; Maintaining inventory control records in an automated system; Managing inventory, independently sets initial stock and par levels, and reorders points and resolves issues; Researching and developing solutions to complex and routine problems; Compiling and analyzing performance measures and implements process improvements. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond a 1 full year of graduate level education. A current, valid state-issued Driver's License is required for this position.
