Accounting Manager - Real Estate Development

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial management for multiple real estate development projects. This role involves managing job cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting while ensuring strong controls and compliance. You'll work closely with project managers and senior leadership in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where no two projects are the same.

Key Responsibilities

Manage job cost processes and enforce budget controls using Yardi Voyager Job Cost module.

Lead monthly/quarterly job cost meetings and provide data for sales transactions and cash flow forecasting.

Review construction contracts for accuracy and compliance.

Oversee accruals, vendor setup, and contract closeouts.

Support annual budgets, quarterly reforecasts, and audit preparation.

Research and document accounting treatments for unique transactions.

Drive process improvements and maintain strong internal controls.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

8+ years of development accounting experience, preferably in real estate.

Strong knowledge of job cost accounting and percentage-of-completion methodology.

Proficiency in Yardi Voyager and Microsoft Excel.

Leadership experience with ability to manage and mentor staff.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
