Adult Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator
Position Summary
At Stony Brook Medicine, the Adult Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator ensures that the PI activities of the Trauma Center System are compliant with the standards set forth by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma and works to improve the quality of trauma care throughout the continuum of care. The Adult Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator facilitates comprehensive support and guidance, maintaining a strategic partnership with the Southampton Hospital (PI) Coordinator. Working under the supervision of the Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Medical Director, the Adult Trauma PI Coordinator will be ensuring the quality of care across the Stony Brook Medicine healthcare system. Responsibilities include case identification and review, presentation to clinical liaisons, analysis of aggregate data, and development of programmatic and individual dashboards. The Adult Trauma PI Coordinator will participate in PI meetings, document PI processes and loop closure and act as facilitator for PI teams across the Stony Brook Medicine healthcare system.
Duties of an Adult Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator may include the following but are not limited to:
Assists the Trauma Medical Director and the Trauma Program Manager to evaluate the effectiveness of the Trauma Team and the Adult Trauma Program, providing support and guidance to Southampton Hospital (PI) Coordinator, ensuring the quality of care across the Stony Brook Medicine healthcare system. This will include time spent at SBSH.
Prepares and presents PI projects and reports, including clinical timelines, case summaries and development of clinical guidelines.
Maintains a Trauma PI database to ensure adequate documentation as required by the ACS.
Serves as a liaison and collaborates with all departments involved in the care of the adult trauma patient.
Supports other Trauma Center activities as requested, including educational programs, community outreach and patient care.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
BS in Nursing or Health Related Field.
NYS Licensed RN with 5 years of clinical trauma experience, inclusive of Adult ICU
Knowledge and application of PI methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in CQI and/or QA
Established leadership skills in a hospital setting
Strong computer skills; processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation & statistical software
Knowledge of the regional and state trauma care system
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and with a team

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position is - $96900 - $138157 / year.
The above salary range represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate's validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.
