Position Overview

A Supply Chain Intern position with Kiewit provides a hands-on learning experience directly related to the skills needed in a full-time career. District Overview

Kiewit Offshore Services, a district (or business unit) of Kiewit Corporation builds structurally complex jackets and topsides for offshore oil drilling rigs. Located in Ingleside, TX, 20 minutes outside of Corpus Christi, the 550-acre fabrication yard is the workplace of 300 staff employees and 1400 craft employees who work in the yard year-round. The projects built by Kiewit Offshore Services require significant equipment planning, detailed cost estimates and schedules, a commitment to safety by all employees, and are truly unforgettable.

Location

This position is located at Kiewit Offshore Services (KOS) headquarters in Ingleside, TX.

Responsibilities

Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representatives Purchase the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost in correct amounts per specifications and drawings Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier's reputation and history Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determine needs for changes Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services Design and present an End of Program Presentation to showcase your work and development throughout this internship

Qualifications

Ability to work full-time during the summer (approximately May-August) Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Supply Chain Management or related Genuine interest and passion for the field of purchasing/procurement Strong customer service and communication skills Detail-oriented, highly motivated with ability to effectively manage time Team player with the ability to work well independently Ability to maintain excellent attendance Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Preferred Skills:

Technical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Customer service and leadership experience
