The Colorado Shakespeare Festival, located on the campus of the University of Colorado Boulder, encourages applications for the position of CSF Retail Manager ! This position will support the success of the Colorado Shakespeare Festival.The 2026 CSF season begins May 2026 and responsibilities for these positions will continue until mid-August. Who We Are
For over 60 seasons, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival has delighted audiences with classic theatre under the stars.The Colorado Shakespeare Festival is a professional theatre company in association with the University of Colorado Boulder. Since 1958, the festival has celebrated and explored Shakespeare and his continuing influence and vitality through productions of superior artistic quality, education, and community engagement.CSF strives to preserve the classics of the past and pursue the classics of the future. Fueled by artistry and scholarship, the festival seeks to expand the cultural richness of the region by inspiring, challenging and cultivating the imagination of audiences and artists.Plays are performed beneath summer night skies in the newly renovated Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre and Roe Green Theatre indoors. The festival's education programs reach tens of thousands of school children each year through camps, classes and outreach performances that connect them with the continuing tradition and importance of live theatre and Shakespeare.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Supervise retail staff to properly and adequately serve CSF patrons efficiently during all business hours.
Act as manager on duty for retail operations for all CSF performances.
Manage the setup of all retail equipment in May to prepare for the season opening and the striking of all retail equipment in August after the conclusion of the Festival.
Attend CSF Audience Services training in May.
Train all audience services staff on retail-specific processes.
Communicate with CSO personnel regarding any safety concerns surrounding the alcohol service.
Be fully informed of all CSF policies as they pertain to patrons and be able to direct patrons as needed.
Act as primary retail contact for all other CSF departments during a performance.
Prepare accurate deposits at the conclusion of each performance.
Ensure safe and secure credit card transactions and cash handling in consultation with CSF's Operations Manager and Managing Director.
Maintain inventory of all food, non-alcoholic beverage items, service supplies, and merchandise throughout CSF's summer season, in consultation with CSF Managing Director.
Maintain inventory of all alcoholic beverages to be served via retail locations in accordance with CSF's beer and wine license, in consultation with CSF Managing Director.
Ensure that no alcohol is sold to minors.
Maintain secure storage for inventory of all retail products, particularly alcoholic beverages.
Work with CSF leadership to manage all credit and cash transactions and ensure accuracy and security of all transactions.
Ensure the cleanliness of all CSF retail facilities throughout the season.
Be kind yet firm with all patrons of the Festival.
Enforce and maintain the CSF liquor license footprint by adhering to all state laws and regulations and all applicable University policies.
Work retail positions regularly throughout the summer season.
Maintain a pleasant and safe environment for CSF patrons to enjoy each show.

The hourly rate for this position is $19.25 per hour.

Must be able to lift small loads (approximately 25 lbs.) repeatedly for short periods of time.
Must be willing to work late evenings and weekends as determined by the production calendar.
