SUMMARY
DeBra-Kuempel is seeking to fill a Safety Manager position in our Kentucky locations. The Safety Manager is responsible for supporting and assisting company personnel with jobsite safety at our Ashland, Lexington, Louisville, and Paintsville locations. This Safety Manager will report mainly to our Louisville and Lexington offices. This position will provide safety leadership in training and educating new hires, current employees, and company supervisors regarding hazard recognition and avoidance and performing job site visits/audits to verify that safety measures are consistently implemented company wide. The ideal candidate will make recommendations to the Safety Director regarding updates to company safety policies, conducting accident investigations, holding pre-job site safety meetings to determine potential safety risks and assist in the pre-planning process of future projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To best meet the needs of our Organization and Customers, the ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
Provide leadership in developing safety policies, procedures, and practices that prevent accidents and ensure compliance with Local, State, and Federal rules and regulations including OSHA, IOSHA, MSHA, DOT, NFPA, and EPA.
Stay current on all legal changes and updates.
Maintain, promote, and enforce project site safety in accordance with Company, State, and Federal policies and procedures.
Monitor jobsite locations for hazards and safety concerns. Take necessary measures to correct/eliminate hazards.
Provide support to Project Managers, Foreman, and Field employees to ensure each construction site is conducting operations in a safe manner for the protection of the employees, clients, and subcontractors.
Provide recommendations and assistance with respect to job site hazards, employee training, new/safe equipment operation, and safe material or substance utilization.
Ensure new employees receive Safety Orientation prior to beginning work.
Advise Safety Director on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
Provide training for employees in safe work practices and necessary training per job functions and jobsite requirements.
Lead Safety Committee Meetings quarterly.
Maintain Safety files and records.
Ensure all offices and sites have the proper PPE and safety equipment.
Perform safety inspections and prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated; follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.
Conduct accident investigation and prepare reports identifying possible accident causes and hazards; submit report to Safety Director in a timely manner.
Assist in the evaluation and upgrading of Safety Programs.
This position has no direct supervision responsibilities but will give direction to others in ensuring compliance with all State and Federal regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of five (5) years Field Safety Management experience, preferably in Construction MEP Industry.
Strong knowledge of all applicable OSHA, DOT, NFPA, and EPA regulations.
Demonstrated knowledge of fundamentals of Construction Safety, Accident Prevention, Occupational Injury, Human Factors, Industry Safety Criteria, Risk Management, and Incident Investigation techniques and methods.
Must be able to lead and communicate effectively with Field employees, Subcontractors, Supervisors/Foremen, Project Managers, and Client Representatives.
Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Detail-Oriented with the ability to multi-task.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in a Safety related field is preferred, but not required.
30 Hour OSHA Certification required.
OSHA Outreach Trainer may be required for some jobsite locations.

TRAVEL
This position may require up to 50% travel toAshland, Lexington, Louisville, and Paintsville totrain new hires, attend meetings, etc.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to commute to field locations. The employee must have the ability to navigate around job sites and be an approved driver per company Fleet and Driver policy.
