Lead Warehouse Clerk - Shipping/ Distribution

Schedule: Mon-Thu 7AM-3:30PM, Fri 7AM-11AM

Pay: $18-$20/hr (BOE), paid weekly

Type: Temp-to-hire (3-6 months, strong potential for permanent opportunity)

Job Overview:

From the desk of your Warehouse Supervisor: We're looking for a dependable Lead Shipping Clerk at our Kankakee warehouse. You'll run point for a shipping team of 8-10 , making sure orders are picked, packed, and shipped fast and right. Warehouse moves quick, if you can keep up, you'll fit in great here.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage, train, and motivate your shipping crew to meet daily goals

Assign orders, balance workload, monitor performance

Oversee picking, packing, and shipment accuracy

Track inventory and resolve issues

Coordinate routing, work with carriers, track shipments

Enforce safety protocols (no personal phones on the floor)

Run inspections, provide feedback, and handle team concerns

Generate reports and recommend process improvements

Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED required (college in supply chain/logistics a HUGE plus)

2+ years leading/supervising warehouse/shipping teams of 5+ 3+ years in shipping, inventory, or routing

Skilled with WMS and Microsoft Office

Multitasking and problem-solving ability

Reliable attendance is critical
