GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision,provides customer service to individuals seeking employment and training assistance,ensuring their eligibility, qualifications, and service needs are accurately identified. Supports employers by developing and meeting workforce needs, filling open positions, and delivering information about Department of Workforce Services (DWS) programs and coordinated agency services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.
Provides services to individuals by coordinating and executing a broad range of individual services in accordance with Federal and State program guidelines, policies, and regulations.
Develops, manages, and monitors a caseload of participants enrolled in state and federal programs.
Confers with employers to develop and fill employment and vocational training openings.
Refers applicants to employment or other community resources.
Assesses and evaluates client skills, education, and training.
Assists, directs, and counsels claimants and job applicants.
Interviews, assesses, and evaluates customers to meet employment, training, and vocational needs.
Enters and monitors data in electronic systems for job postings, candidate file searches, and program reporting.
Assists, directs, and counsels business customers on the multitude of DWS coordinated business services, training grants, and resources.
Provides on-site visits to businesses to understand employer needs, operations, and job openings.
Organizes and participates in community events designed to connect business needs and job seekers and advance DWS services to both.
Works with Program Staff to ensure compliance with Department of Labor case management standards.
Refers applicants to employers and follows up on the hiring process.
Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Provides employment services to people who may have significant barriers to employment.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Preference may be given to those with case management experience.
Preference may be given to candidates with experience working in federal programs.
Preference may be given to candidates with customer service experience.
Preference may be given to candidates with experience building and maintaining relationships with community partners.
**Must have a valid driver's license.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of state and federal statutes relative to employment and training
Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures.
Knowledge of labor market information in the local area as well as statewide.
Knowledge of area partners and service providers and how to coordinate with them to provide quality services and referrals.
Knowledge of administering and interpreting various intelligence, interest, skills and proficiency tests.
Knowledge of public speaking and record keeping.
Knowledge of how to establish appropriate rapport with other agencies, case workers, businesses, applicants and government agencies.
Knowledge and use of tests and other assessment tools to assist customers in determining occupational and career choices.
Ability to work with community members and leaders to promote economic development in the area.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Business or Human Services)
Experience:
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Business or Human Services)
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business or Human Services)
