Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations within a non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices and a proven ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate completion.

Maintain and update the general ledger while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Prepare and post journal entries to reflect financial transactions.

Perform account reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

Conduct bank reconciliations to align financial records with bank statements.

Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and reports.

Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.

Utilize cloud-based ERP systems to manage financial operations efficiently.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles.

Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and general ledger maintenance.

Strong knowledge of journal entries and reconciliation procedures.

Experience with bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.

Familiarity with auditing processes and requirements.

Hands-on experience with cloud-based ERP systems.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
