Compensation: $36.05 - $36.05/hr

Tessera is seeking a dedicated and dependable Heavy Truck Driver who takes pride in meaningful work and thrives in a mission-driven environment. As a CDL A driver with Hazmat endorsements, you'll play a vital role in servicing military and civilian sites, ensuring clean, safe, and well-maintained facilities for those who rely on them. Your reliability, attention to detail, and positive attitude make you an essential part of our team-and we're proud to support professionals like you every mile of the way.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Drive and operate a tanker truck to deliver, set up, and retrieve portable sanitation units using map-based grid coordinates
Sanitize and maintain portable latrines and sinks, including pumping effluent and replenishing supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels)
Perform minor truck maintenance and maintain vehicle service logs
Maintain service records for sanitation units and conduct light repairs as needed
Safely dispose of effluent at designated disposal sites in compliance with environmental and hazmat regulations
Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers, ensuring professional service delivery
Navigate Joint Base Lewis-McChord and other military installations with precision and familiarity
Qualifications:
1-3 years in sanitation or commercial driving (equivalent experience allowed)
Familiarity with military installations preferred
Map reading using grid coordinates, independent work ethic, customer service
Must qualify for Red Badge Security Clearance for PSNS/Bangor
Must be eligible for FMCSA Clearinghouse registration and compliance
Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
FMCSA Requirements: Must comply with Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) standards for Class A CDL and Hazmat endorsements.
Hazmat Endorsement: Requires passing a written knowledge test and TSA background check for transporting hazardous materials.
Clearinghouse Compliance: Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse and maintain a clean record per state and federal guidelines.
A valid CDL Class A with Tanker Endorsement is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance company.
A Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated pre-employment medical examination and drug screening are required. Candidates must meet federal guidelines to be considered for this position.
