SUMMARYThe Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for
delivering comprehensive patient care within the Specialty Clinic. This
includes assessing, diagnosing, treating, and/or referring patients in
accordance with established medical protocols, Wisconsin Statutes, and
applicable Federal Regulations. The APP functions independently while
maintaining collaborative practice with the supervising physician to
ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.MAJOR JOB FUNCTION Performs
initial and follow-up evaluations and examinations and records findings.
Obtains complete medical history data on patients, including
pre-operative history and physicals (H&Ps). Reviews patient records and
dictates articulate and concise information into the medical
record.Perform comprehensive History & Physical (H&P) assessments for
new patients and prior to procedures requiring anesthesia or moderate
sedation, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and CMS
standards.Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate
diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.Orders appropriate laboratory and
diagnostic procedures.Administers injections, medications; performs
minor procedures such as joint injection, aspiration, removal and
application of casts and splints in the clinic.Orders prescription
medications as needed.Writes pre-operative orders on surgical
patients. 1. Assess, diagnose, and manage acute, chronic, and complex
wounds (e.g., diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, surgical wounds). 2.
Perform wound care procedures including: Debridement (sharp, enzymatic,
autolytic) Dressing selection and application Negative Pressure Wound
Therapy (NPWT) Compression therapy Order and interpret diagnostic tests
relevant to wound care (labs, imaging). Prescribe medications and
advanced wound care products under state prescriptive authority.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams for
coordinated care. Sees patient in follow-up post-op visit without
physician directly present and generates a continuing treatment plan.
Interpret x-rays, CT scans, MRIs as needed and discuss finding with
patients, therapist and staff. Instructs patient and family regarding
medications and treatment instructions. Provides patient education.
Performs hospital rounds on an as needed and requested basis. Writes
chart notes in hospital record. Provides monitoring and continuity of
care between physician visits. Consults and collaborates with other
professionals; makes referrals when appropriate. Functions as a resource
person in health matters. Participates in professional development
activities and maintains professional certification and affiliations.
Maintains excellent personal relations and communication with all
members of the clinic and hospital staff. Demonstrates proficiency in
regards to the computer documentation of patient cares and any other
related computerized patient information/documentation. Participate in
quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice updates.

of each individual person. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education
requirements: Masters degree in nursing AND Current licensure as APNP
and RN in State of WI -OR- Graduation from an accredited Physician
Assistant Program, with current State of WI and National Certification
(NCCPA).DEA Certification.Current certification in BLS and ACLS, ANA
and/or AANP required.Current wound care certification or ability to
obtain certification within three (3) years of hire.3 years of
professional nursing, general medicine, wound care, family practice, or
orthopedics is desired but not required. QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS Excellent
verbal and written communication skills.Excellent human relation skills
as demonstrated by the ability to interface positively with all
customers and employees.Must acquire the knowledge and maintain
established competency levels to perform essential professional
practice.Must have proficient computer skills with the ability to
operate within a Windows environment.Must have the ability to work with
frequent interruptions, under stress, with minimal supervision, and to
exercise initiative and judgment in analyzing, organizing, planning,
prioritizing, scheduling and coordinating work with others.Needs to
possess as high level of intelligence, integrity, sense of
responsibility and ability to comprehend and analyze details.Knowledge

and research; of preparation, administration, and actions of
medications; of treatments and medical procedures; of counseling and
teaching techniques; of medical equipment as it relates to patient
care.Ability to operate and handle many kinds of complex
equipment.Ability to demonstrate clinical competence and maintain
current knowledge in caring for adult through geriatric patients. JOB
REQUIREMENTS Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel
objects, and talk and hear. The Advanced Practice Provider is frequently
required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The Advanced
Practice Provider is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance,
stoop, kneel or crouch.The Advanced Practice Provider must occasionally
lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Good hearing is necessary to receive
detailed information through oral communication and to make fine
discriminations in sound.Visual acuity is needed to assess color
changes, to verify accuracy of written materials.Computer/keyboard
