The Mechanical Inspector III inspects commercial off the shelf (COTS), Mil-Spec components, and printed wiring boards (PWBs) materials and components procured by the company to ensure the material meets the requirements defined by purchase orders, drawings, and industry standards so that compliant material is supplied to the manufacturing department. Uses geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) capabilities and runs the coordinate measurement machine (CMM).

Position Responsibilities: Performs visual and mechanical inspections of all parts including COTS, Mil Spec components and PWB parts and materials including electronic components and hardware received at the company for compliance to industry standards, military specifications, and customer drawings. Utilizes microscopes, test equipment, and standard measuring equipment as well as advanced inspection tools such as height gauges, optical comparators, and CMM to perform inspections. Verifies and properly stores all required paperwork including certifications, test data, etc. as listed on the purchase order. This includes entry of documentation into the ERP system. Works with Quality Engineers and Purchasing to disposition and process non-conforming material. Assigns shelf life by dating stickers and/or labels to incoming chemicals and other age sensitive materials. Assists in keeping the Inspection Department compliant with all ISO/AS9102 requirements on a continuing basis. Responsible for the general order and upkeep of workstations and the Receiving Inspection work area. Performs other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of this organization.

Skills & Abilities: Advanced knowledge of technical drawings with ability to reach and understand markings and symbols. Advanced GD&T knowledge required. Experience with and understanding of standard measuring equipment. Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities. Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Windows Strong mathematical skills Ability to work in a team environment. Possesses attention to detail and problem solving skills

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 10 years of work experience in Quality DOD experience a plus but not necessarily required. Experience running the CMM preferred. Ability to pass vision acuity exam per J-STD-001 and NASA Standards Has current or prior IPC-A-610, J-STD-001 certification Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

Work Environment: Production Environment: Requires physical capability to work in a production environment up to 9 hours a day including; sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities including; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Hours: 6:00 AM -- 3:30 PM Monday -- Thursday; Friday 6:00 AM -- 2:30 PM with additional hours as needed to meet demand. Occasional off-shift hours may also be required to provide support to operations. 9/80 work schedule. Office located in Lititz, PA.
