Summary: The Industrial Maintenance Technician will be responsible for fabricating, installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as grounds and structures, to maximize equipment productivity and safety in a production facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform preventive and general maintenance on equipment as defined by OEM manual or assigned by supervisor. Perform mechanic skills on mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems to troubleshoot and repair production machines. Maintain a working knowledge of all equipment within the department to quickly and efficiently repair any equipment breakdowns and/or issues. Troubleshoot machine or equipment malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors, other maintenance team members and operators to diagnose problems and/or to repair machines. Follow inspection and repair schedules. Operate a cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. Set up and operate machine tools such as grinders, drills, and saw machines to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools. Work and communicate with Engineers to assist in design and construction of new equipment. Maintain flexibility with regard to work scheduling needs. Perform other duties as needed Other Skills, Abilities, Licenses, or Certifications: Forklift license (in-house certification available) Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 3-5 years in related maintenance field Attributes: Accurate, thorough, and always striving to improve Good communication skills, with ability to work within a team environment Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and other drawings Work Environment: Maintenance shop or production floor The noise level in the work environment is moderate to severe when on the production floor; hearing protection required in the vicinity of the vibrating tables. Repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment. Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment. Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery. Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs. Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs. Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear. Record repairs and maintenance performed. Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs. Record parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts or materials, as necessary. Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices. Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems. Study blueprints or manufacturers\' manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery. Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment. Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery.
