Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in New London, Connecticut. This long-term position offers the opportunity to oversee critical financial operations while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will excel in managing financial workflows, grant accounting, preparing budgets, and maintaining accurate accounting records.

Responsibilities:

Lead month-end close processes, ensuring all financial entries are completed accurately and on time.

Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts to maintain consistency and accuracy.

Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.

Perform detailed account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Handle grant accounting and reporting, ensuring proper allocation and documentation of funds.

Develop and manage billing schedules, ensuring timely invoicing and payment tracking.

Monitor cash balances and perform cash flow analysis to support financial decision-making.

Prepare budgets and forecasts, collaborating with stakeholders to align financial planning with organizational goals.

Journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.

Utilize software tools such as QuickBooks, Paylocity, and Microsoft Excel.

Requirements

Proven experience in month-end close procedures and general ledger management.

Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation and audit compliance.

Proficiency in grant accounting and reporting processes.

Expertise in account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.

Advanced skills in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Paylocity, and Microsoft Excel.

Non profit experience

Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
