Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Henderson, North Carolina. In this role, you will play a key part in managing and streamlining the accounts payable process while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and practices. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced financial environment.

Responsibilities:

Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy in account coding and adherence to company policies.

Utilize accounting software systems to complete payments and monitor expenditures effectively.

Manage accounts payable workflows, including accrual accounting and auditing tasks.

Conduct thorough reviews of transactions to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.

Maintain vendor records and ensure timely communication regarding payment statuses.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper alignment of financial processes.

Execute automated clearing house (ACH) transactions and oversee payment schedules.

Implement and improve processes within ERP and Concur systems to enhance efficiency.

Assist with monthly and annual financial reporting related to accounts payable.

Support compliance efforts by adhering to established financial guidelines and standards. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role.

Proficiency in accounting software systems such as ERP and Concur.

Strong knowledge of account coding and accrual accounting principles.

Familiarity with automated clearing house (ACH) transactions and auditing practices.

Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.

Understanding of financial reporting processes and compliance requirements.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
