Machine Operator Penn United Technologies, Inc. is now accepting applications for full-time Machine Operators to work in our Preform department at our Carbide facility. This is an excellent ENTRY LEVEL position that has the potential to lead to an in-house Apprenticeship /Certificate program and which also provides an opportunity to advance your skills and grow within our employee-owned company.Position is primarily daylight, but candidates must be available for daylight, afternoon and midnight shifts and potentially Saturday morning when workload requires. Penn United Technologies currently employs over 650 people in our employee-owned precision manufacturing company, located about 35 miles northeast of Pittsburgh in Butler County.

Responsibilities:

Prioritize, plan and prepare work. Analyze tasks and establish appropriate sequence of operations Read prints & job orders for product specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances and machine set-up requirements Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on machines Set-up and safely operate various machining equipment such as manual and CNC lathes, mills, jig bores, and grinders in order to machine or grind components to customer specifications Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media. Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications using precision measuring devices (such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc..) Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills: Must have math & mechanical skills/aptitude Must have the ability & desire to do precision work Able to work well independently and cooperatively with team Candidates must be able to stand 8-10 hours per day, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Position is primarily daylight, but candidates must be available for daylight, afternoon and midnight shifts and potentially Saturday morning when workload requires. Education/Experience: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent No experience necessary, however, previous experience with lathes, mills, grinders, blueprint reading and measurement tools such as calipers & micrometers is a plus
