CNC Lathe Machinist

Job Description

A dynamic machine shop specializing in custom gears, machined parts, and assembly for various industries including aerospace, defense, medical, commercial oil, power, and automotive is looking for a skilled setup machinist in Anaheim, CA.

Responsibilities

Read blueprints and verify part dimensions using appropriate measuring instruments.

Accurately utilize measuring tools and follow necessary company procedures relevant to the position.

Perform in-process inspection of machined parts to ensure quality standards.

Collaborate with the Supervisor and Quality Department to ensure parts meet customer specifications.

Demonstrate excellent communication skills and proven problem-solving abilities.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in operating CNC lathes, particularly Okuma's models LT300MY, LB3000, and L250.

Experience with blueprint reading and setup operations.

Previous experience with aerospace parts and inspection tools/methods with tolerances up to .0005''.

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a precision machining environment as an operator or 5 years minimum experience in setup.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Mastercam is a plus.

Must have held a similar job within the last 3-4 years.

Supervisory and programming experience is advantageous.

Work Environment

Work in a clean and air-conditioned machine shop with approximately 50 employees. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 2 pm to 12:30 am, following a 4/10 work schedule.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $35.00/hr.
