DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this multifaceted position, you will provide clerical and accounting support for the Inmate Accounts Section. You will be involved in performing bookkeeping duties and transferring inmate accounts to their permanent facility. You will also be responsible for verifying account balances, issuing final checks, and reconciling posting and transactional work. Additionally, you will receive and prepare deposits for the Inmate General Welfare Fund checking account. Furthermore, you will resolve and respond to inquires from inmates, family members, and staff regarding inmate account issues.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work;or
An Associate Degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits of accounting.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement:
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
