GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position plays a critical role in Wyoming's state accreditation system by ensuring district and school compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. It collaborates with districts, particularly those accredited with support, to implement school improvement strategies aligned to Wyoming statutes and educational goals, while contributing to the review and evaluation of accreditation evidence and peer review processes. The position leads and coordinates staff certification reviews in accordance with W.S. 21-7-303, working in partnership with the Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB) to verify compliance with accreditation criteria. As the state point of contact for the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), it collaborates with districts, stakeholders, and internal teams to strengthen intervention practices and provide guidance in math and literacy improvement. The position also ensures district alignment with Chapter 3 Rules and W.S. 21-2-304(a)(iii) for graduation requirements, maintaining a clear focus on continuous improvement and statutory fidelity across Wyoming schools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
Collaborate with districts, particularly those accredited with support, to implement school improvement strategies aligned with Wyoming statutes and educational goals.
Conduct site visits and provide technical assistance to support district compliance with state standards and accreditation requirements.
Lead the annual staff certification review process to ensure compliance with W.S. 21-7-303 and verify licensure through collaboration with the Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB).
Review and evaluate district accreditation submissions for statutory alignment under W.S. 21-2-304(a)(i) and prepare recommendations for the Wyoming State Board of Education.
Serve as the state point of contact for the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), collaborating with districts, stakeholders, and internal teams to strengthen tiered systems of intervention.
Provide guidance and resources to districts to support math and literacy improvement in alignment with Chapter 6, Section 4(a)(ii) and W.S. 21-2-304(a)(ii).
Ensure district adherence to graduation requirements under Chapter 31 and Chapter 3 Rules and W.S. 21-2-304(a)(iii).
Participate as a peer reviewer, evaluating district evidence, offering feedback, and supporting the statewide accreditation process.
Serve as the primary contact for Gifted and Talented Education, offering guidance and responding to district inquiries.
Perform other duties as assigned to advance accreditation, continuous improvement, and statewide educational quality.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to applicants with experience as a classroom teacher or school administrator.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITES:
Knowledge of commonly used office software and communication technologies
Knowledge of customer service skills
Knowledge of interpersonal communications
Strong verbal and written communication skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Education)
Experience:
1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Education Program Specialist.
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Education Program Specialist.
