Robert Half is recruiting for a Senior Tax Associate/ Consultant for our boutique CPA firm client. The Senior Tax Associate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex individual tax returns, with a strong emphasis on California-specific tax issues. The candidate will have to have extensive, recent experience using Lacerte Tax Software and a deep understanding of California tax regulations. This role can be done fully remote, but recent Lacerte experience and CA tax filling is required.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review federal and California individual income tax returns using Lacerte

Identify and resolve tax issues, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws

Communicate with clients to gather necessary documentation and clarify tax positions

Provide guidance and mentorship to staff

Stay current with changes in tax laws, especially California-specific updates

Assist with tax planning and advisory services for high-net-worth individuals

Maintain accurate and organized client records

Qualifications

CPA license or EA designation preferred to have

Minimum 5 years of experience in individual tax preparation

Proficiency in Lacerte Tax Software is required

Strong knowledge of California individual tax laws and regulations

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Strong communication skills and client service orientation

Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
