Job Title: Custodian University Setting Location: Charleston, WV Schedule: Part-Time (Day, Evening, and Weekend Shifts Available) Pay: Based on experience Job Description: Seeking a reliable Custodian to perform general cleaning and maintenance of university classrooms, offices, dorms, and athletic facilities. The ideal candidate will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble, and trim Sanitize classrooms, lounges, restrooms, hallways, elevators, locker rooms, and stairways Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors Clean carpets, rugs, upholstery, and drapes Dust furniture and equipment Polish metalwork and wash walls, ceilings, windows, and woodwork Empty trash and ashtrays; transport waste to disposal areas Replenish bathroom supplies and replace light bulbs as needed Maintain exterior areas including cutting grass and snow removal per contract Transport small equipment or tools between departments Clean sinks, toilets, and mirrors Maintain janitorial equipment and use cleaning supplies efficiently Other duties as assigned Qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferred 13 months of custodial experience strongly preferred Must pass a criminal background check Able to stand and walk for extended periods Must be able to frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs Additional Information: This is a part-time position.
