Job Title: Staff AccountantJob Description

Responsibilities

Process accounts payable invoices and maintain current balance for GRIR clearing account.

Prepare journal entries based on review of supporting reconciliations and schedules.

Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and balance inventory daily.

Maintain the Prepaid and Accrued expense account and roll forward schedules.

Review AP/Credit Card Expense reports and general ledger detail for coding discrepancies and perform re-classes as needed.

Collaborate with accounting staff to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.

Research, analyze, and correct account discrepancies.

Maintain adequate internal controls within the accounting processes to ensure well documented, accurate, and timely financial reporting.

Provide support to streamline accounting processes and procedures to bring about process improvements.

Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as required.

Establish proficiency with new departmental accounting systems (Global Shop) and procedures; recommend and implement revisions to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in accounting, journal entries, accounts payable, and general ledger.

Experience with month-end processes.

Strong analytical skills for researching and resolving account discrepancies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Ability to work with pivot tables and vlookups.

Willingness to learn new things and adapt.

Work Environment

The work environment is at a newly built manufacturing and office facility, providing a corporate yet welcoming atmosphere. The company has experienced substantial growth, expanding to 230 employees and generating significant revenue. The Accounting and Finance team is small, fostering a close-knit atmosphere within a larger parent company. The role requires in-office presence five days a week with flexibility for life events, such as snow days. You'll have a designated quiet workspace next to HR, with opportunities for collaboration. Normal working hours are 8-4pm. The ERP system used is Global Shop, and the facility is focused on volumetric modular units for multi-family apartment and hospitality industries.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Otsego, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.25/hr.
