Staff Accountant II

Ziegler Companies is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting and will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and preparing reports. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a collaborative environment while ensuring compliance and efficiency across all accounting functions. Responsibilities: Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions for Ziegler and/or related entities Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting standards with ability to account for complex transactions, such as capitalizing versus expensing, lease accounting, and inventory valuation Managing all aspects of lease accounting under ASC 842, including new leases, modifications, and terminations Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures Assist with monthly financial documents such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements Serve as back up for various daily and monthly cash activities Handle Month and Year End close Reconcile various accounts, including bank acco unts and general ledger accounts, to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with accounting standards Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; accounting, finance or business related preferred 3-5 years of related work experience CPA or working towards certification preferred Personal Attributes: Attention to Detail, Commitment / Dependability, Integrity, Problem Solving, Efficiency Advanced Microsoft skills, specifically Microsoft Excel This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required for the position. The pay range for this position is $63,100.00 to $75,700.00 Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant's location.
