Roles and Responsibilities
Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs. Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements.
Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.
Source and purchase critical materials, equipment, and supplies supporting the maintenance/ production departments as needed.
Evaluate and select supplier quotes based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to quality or delivery.
Maintain day-to-day communication with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, system data integrity, and accurate ordering parameters for individual materials.
Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure optimal stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
Analyze inventory usage trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
Implement inventory control measures to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of supply chain/quality experience)
Desired Characteristics
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
Demonstrated LEAN leadership, including implementation of Standard Work, Daily Management, and Visual Management tools.
Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and maintenance processes.
Ability and willingness to work off-shift as required.
Ability to assume additional responsibilities as needed.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface with personnel from diverse backgrounds at all organizational levels.
MRO product knowledge preferred.
Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.
Ability to compile routine reports and write correspondence.
Ability to work in a team environment and be self-motivated to accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
May be required to work remote within specific conditions.
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
