The organization is seeking a Managing Vice President of Business Analytics to lead Marriott's enterprise-wide Business Analytics function. In this role, the MVP of Business Analytics will drive strategic insights and recommendations and enabling new capabilities across all business domains to unlock new business value. This role is responsible for shaping and executing a cohesive data, analytics and AI strategy that aligns with Marriott's enterprise goals, empowering business leaders to unlock value through actionable insights.
As a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, this leader brings exceptional executive presence and communication skills, translating complex data into clear, compelling narratives that influence strategy, performance, and transformation efforts. They oversee a high-performing team of data, analytics and AI professionals, fostering innovation, talent development, and a culture of continuous learning.
This role is deeply business-centric and D&A-enabled, ensuring that analytics efforts are aligned with the needs of the organization. The leader is accountable for assembling and guiding cross-functional D&A teams to deliver high-impact solutions tailored to evolving business needs. They bring a deep understanding of Marriott's business dynamics and use that knowledge to prioritize and direct D&A efforts that drive performance, transformation, and innovation.
Their team has a comprehensive view of the consumer journey, property-level dynamics, market conditions, and competitive forces-providing enterprise-wide guidance on the trends and insights that matter most. They champion data literacy, promote the adoption of analytics tools, and maintain strong partnerships with Corporate and Continent leaders to meet evolving business needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science, Analytics, or a related field required. Graduate or doctoral degree preferred.
15+ years of work experience in research consulting, management consulting, or business analytics roles, demonstrating progressive career growth, exceptional performance, and the ability to lead and manage teams of highly educated and motivated members.
Extensive knowledge and work experience in the hospitality and lodging industry.
Proven executive-level experience in consultative leadership and strategic business partnership, with a demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, align cross-functional priorities, and drive enterprise-wide analytics initiatives that deliver measurable business impact.
Exceptional executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analytical concepts into clear, actionable insights for senior-level audiences of varying technical backgrounds
Demonstrated expertise in advanced analytics methodologies, tools, and data technologies, with the ability to guide high-performing teams in delivering actionable insights that influence strategic decisions across business domains.
Experience in building or transforming a D&A discipline for an omnichannel organization
Skilled in prioritizing D&A initiatives based on business impact and resource availability.
Skilled in driving adoption of analytics tools, insights, and data-informed decision-making.
Prior experience shaping how D&A functions operate within a product or domain model preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Business Analytics function, overseeing strategic analytics initiatives across multiple business domains and aligning efforts with enterprise priorities.
Design and implement a cohesive D&A strategy that supports enterprise goals and enables data-driven decision-making across business units.
Deliver advanced analytics solutions that drive measurable business outcomes, operational efficiencies, and customer experience improvements.
Establish strong relationships with Corporate and Continent leaders to understand their needs, manage expectations, and deliver impactful data, analytics, and AI solutions.
Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations tailored to executive audiences and operational teams, influencing strategy and decision-making.
Build and mentor a high-performing D&A team, fostering professional development, domain expertise, and cross-functional collaboration.
Oversee team structure, resource allocation, and portfolio prioritization to ensure high-impact D&A initiatives are delivered efficiently and effectively.
Build and mentor a high-performing D&A team capabilities that promote innovative thinking and proactive identification of emerging trends, enabling Marriott to seize new business opportunities.
Represent D&A in cross-functional forums, enterprise transformation efforts, and governance bodies.
Champion data and AI literacy and drive adoption of D&A tools to empower business leaders and foster a culture of informed decision-making.
Ensure data governance, quality, and ethical use of AI across all domains.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in analytics and AI.
