Job Summary
Oregon State University is seeking a Division of Academic Affairs Analyst & University Innovation Alliance Fellow. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE ), 12-month, professional faculty position.
The Division of Academic Affairs, Analyst and UIA Fellow provides data expertise and analysis with projects related to student success working in close collaboration with the Office of the Registrar and University Information and Technology's Institutional Analytics and Reporting. This expertise helps to plan, organize, coordinate, evaluate, and participate in Oregon State University's university-wide collaborations and as the Fellow for theUniversity Innovation Alliance (https://theuia.org/) . The UIA Fellow provides strategic project management to move UIA initiatives forward at OSU and interacts with internal and external project stakeholders to build support. The UIA Fellow facilitates communication and collaboration between OSU and the other UIA institutions.
The University Innovation Alliance ( UIA ) is a national consortium of large public research universities working together to improve outcomes for all students regardless of their socioeconomic status. The UIA's primary objective is to improve student outcomes by acting as an innovation cluster which develops and tests new initiatives, shares data, and scales best practices across the Alliance and beyond. The UIA Fellowship is a university leadership development program that places top-tier professionals with Alliance member institutions. Fellows engage in critical work to support member institutions to identify innovative solutions, scale proven innovations, and communicate and diffuse outcomes - helping more students have access to and graduate with a high quality, affordable bachelor's degree.
This position serves as a data analyst supporting the unit's operational and strategic goals through data-informed insights. The analyst will work in close partnership with the institution's UIT central data team and is expected to use standardized tools, systems, and practices to ensure consistency and alignment with enterprise-wide data governance. Due to elevated access to sensitive institutional data, the analyst must uphold the highest standards of data security, privacy, and ethical use. This role requires strict adherence to institutional policies and participation in required training and community practice activities to maintain access privileges and ensure responsible and accurate use of institutional data for business operations and strategic decision making.
The Division of Academic Affairs Analyst and UIA Fellow reports to the Associate Vice Provost for Academic Affairs with additional supervision/direction from the Division's Project Specialist. This position works collaboratively under the direction of the Division's leadership team helping to provide requested data and analysis. This position also works collaboratively with the UIA Liaisons who provide leadership and vision for their university's participation in the UIA (OSU's current co-liaisons are the Associate Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and the Director of the Office of Academic Support in Student Affairs).

What You Will Need
Bachelor's degree in Data or Information Science, Math, Statistics, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field AND two years of full-time professional work experience in a higher education settingORan equivalent combination of education, training, and professional data science and strategic project management experience.
Training in quantitative disciplines (e.g., math, statistics, computing, social sciences)
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (written and verbally) with a wide audience in a manner that shows respect and inclusivity.
Demonstrated project management skills to initiate and drive results (independently and leading a team).
Demonstrated ability to utilize systemic and/or survey data to inform data-driven decision making.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
What We Would Like You to Have
Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., math, statistics, computing, social sciences)

Work experience in data and related analytics functions in a higher ed setting.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Work environment is in an office setting which requires working at a computer terminal. The position is based at the Corvallis, Oregon campus, with a mix of in person and remote meetings.
