We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer Staff to join our Mechanical Ground Support Equipment team in Cape Canaveral.

As our part of the Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) LE2 Team, this candidate will be the technical deputy to the MGSE Architect.

Summary of Key Duties: In this role, you will...

Participate in LE2 Design Reviews (SDR, PDR, Technical Interchange Meetings, etc.)

Review technical information (drawings, models, etc.) and assessing how it may impact MGSE

Develop documentation and conduct documentation reviews (FMELs, CDRLs, OD updates, Development Plans, etc.)

Support LE2 What - Ifs

Our employees working in this level of position typically have 6-9 years of experience.

Travel may be required periodically to support design reviews.

Basic Qualifications:

-Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education

Exceptional understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis.

Mechanical design and/or manufacturing experience that includes the use and interpretation of engineering design drawings.

Familiarity with engineering CAD tools (ex: Creo) and model based product definition.

Experience presenting information to Leadership / Navy partners

Excellent in Microsoft Office Products, include Excel, Microsoft Project, and Powerpoint.

-Candidate must have the ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules.

-This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.

Secret Clearance

Knowledge or experience with Mechanical Ground Support Equipment

Desired Skills:

Understanding of the LE2 program

Understanding of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment

Understanding of D5 Missile assembly and handling processes

Experience with generating ROMs or proposals

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
