Scientist II - Immunohistochemistry

Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Scientist II - Immunohistochemistry (IHC) to join our research team. In this role, you will perform routine single-plex and multiplex IHC to support drug discovery programs. You'll contribute to projects involving target validation, animal model development, pharmacology, and exploratory safety studies in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in situ hybridization (ISH) using the Leica Bond Rx platform.

Support multiplex IHC workflows, including exposure to Lumiphores COMET technology.

Maintain accurate records in laboratory tracking systems (e.g., Sample Manager, Dream Path).

Collaborate with study pathologists and project teams to deliver high-quality results.

Follow established protocols and documentation requirements to ensure compliance.

Prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects independently after training.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.

Hands-on experience with immunohistochemistry in a pharmaceutical, CRO, or biotech setting.

Working knowledge of Leica Bond Rx for IHC and ISH.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, OneNote).

Preferred Qualifications:

QIHC certification (preferred but not required).

Experience troubleshooting IHC protocols.

3-5 years of experience in a histology or pathology laboratory.

Additional Attributes:

Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects.

Strong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Work Conditions:

Continuous standing for extended periods.

Routine work with chemicals in a laboratory setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Worcester, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
