Summary You will serve as a HEALTH PHYSICIST in the Radiation Health Division of the Radiological Control Office of the of PSNS and IMF. Salary: GS-05: $45,331 - $58,925 GS-07: $56,153 - $73,003 Responsibilities You will perform analyses to determine radionuclide identification and quantity in a variety of samples such as mud, water, air, waste material, work areas and the human body. You will evaluate basic radiation survey data to determine radiation hazards and compliance with established radiation exposure requirements. You will conduct personnel dosimetry investigations to determine personnel exposures, evaluate results, and recommend improvements. You will perform statistical and trend analyses of data relating to radiation health programs. You will prepare reports of findings and evaluations to develop procedures and modification of existing requirements. You will use and develop computer programs related to health physics. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-07: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional health physicist assessing and assisting with radiological issues, the collection of data or samples, and the preparation of reports for radiation health programs.
