The Event & Group Sales Manager is a results-oriented hospitality professional responsible for driving revenue through proactive sales of group rooms and local catering business. This individual is a leader in the hotel who manages the sales process from prospecting and proposal through contract completion, consistently achieving goals through strategic outreach, relationship development, and effective negotiation. The ideal candidate is a persuasive communicator and confident closer who excels in a competitive, fast-paced environment and embodies Hyatt's standard of excellence in every client interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Solicit, negotiate, and secure group and catering business to achieve or exceed assigned revenue goals.
Manage client accounts through proactive communication, prospecting, and follow-up to develop lasting relationships.
Prepare and present professional, compelling proposals tailored to client needs.
Conduct site inspections and effectively showcase resort amenities, guest rooms, and meeting spaces.
Collaborate with resort sales leaders on contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and business mix optimization.
Collaboration & Leadership
Participate in and, as needed, lead weekly sales, catering, and event meetings to ensure alignment across departments.
Serve as a role model for exceptional communication, teamwork, and service standards.
Partner closely with assigned administrative and support staff to ensure smooth operations and timely communication.
Qualifications :
· A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
· Professional qualities: extremely detail-oriented, highly organized and able to multi-task
· Refined verbal and written communication skills
· Proficiency with MS Office suite along general computer knowledge, knowledge of event management program preferred
· Minimum 2-3 years of experience in hotel group sales, event management, or catering sales.
· Proven success in achieving sales goals and managing complex group or event programs.
· Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
· Proficiency in sales and event management systems
· Completion of PSS or equivalent training preferred.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule including Weekends & Holidays as business demands
· Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight
· Must have ability to stand for periods of time and walk long distances
