Job Summary and Qualifications
Position Summary: This position supports the mission of North Suburban Medical Center. The Wound Care and Hyperbaric Program Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of inpatient and outpatient wound care/HBO as assigned by the Department Director. The program manager is involved in regulatory oversight of documentation, coding and billing, quality control and improvement, safety program oversight, and staff competency and training. It is the responsibility of the program manager to help promote good staff working relationships with physicians and to promote a positive clinic environment by being available to staff and customers. The program manager demonstrates an understanding of the budget process and staffing plan, implementing cost-effective strategies in staffing and supply management. This role additionally supports direct patient care when necessary, including registration, patient throughput, and hyperbaric supervision.
Position Requirements:
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse (or current active multistate Registered Nurse license), or current active Physical Therapist license, or licensure/certification in Hyperbaric Medical Technology. AHA or ARC BLS certification.
Education: Degree in nursing or medical technology (HBO). Master's in Public Health or related field preferred.
Experience: Three years of experience in wound care or HBO, and a minimum of one year previous supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Provide courteous, positive and professional image. Demonstrates superior interpersonal skills. Ability to work with staff in wound care and with other departments, ability to problem solve and handle multiple priorities. Knowledge of general clinical theory and practice including, but not limited to, asepsis and sterile technique, principles of body mechanics, and medication administration. Knowledge of learning principles for all ages and the ability to teach and develop an effective patient education program. Completes position responsibilities by following established guidelines and protocols with the appropriate time frames. Demonstrates good skills in all forms of communication. Works well with others in a spirit of cooperation. Maintains education and development appropriate for the position. Adheres to established hospital and departmental guidelines and protocols. Supports hospital mission, vision and values. Performs position-specific job functions at an acceptable level.
