Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in records, and supporting seamless accounting processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in QuickBooks Online and demonstrate exceptional organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

Perform month-end closing activities, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.

Manage general ledger accounts and oversee the preparation of journal entries.

Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.

Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure proper documentation of transactions.

Utilize QuickBooks Online for accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Handle intercompany accounting and ensure compliance with established policies.

Assist in preparing financial reports and statements with precision and detail.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial data for audits and reviews.

Collaborate with external accounting firms to facilitate efficient handovers.

Provide support in streamlining financial practices and identifying areas for improvement. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably at a senior level.

Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and familiarity with accounting software.

Strong understanding of general ledger, journal entries, and month-end closing processes.

Expertise in account and bank reconciliations.

Knowledge of intercompany accounting and related financial principles.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with external teams.
