Position Description:
This is a hybrid position located in Strongsville, OH. Fully remote work is not possible.
We are seeking a Graph Database (Neo4j) Developer to design, build, and optimize graph-based data models and applications that power our next-generation data insights and relationship analytics. The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise with Neo4j, Cypher query language, and data integration pipelines, and is passionate about turning complex connected data into meaningful business intelligence.
You will collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and product teams to build graph solutions that enhance recommendation engines, fraud detection models, master data relationships, and enterprise knowledge graphs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Build scalable and efficient graph database models in Neo4j to represent complex business entities and relationships.
. Write and optimize Cypher queries for analytics, data retrieval, and transformation.
. Develop data ingestion pipelines to populate graph structures from structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources (e.g., SQL, APIs, JSON, CSV).
. Integrate Neo4j with applications and analytics platforms using Python, Java, or Node.js SDKs.
. Monitor and tune graph database performance, indexes, and query execution plans.
. Work closely with data architects, data scientists, and software engineers to design and operationalize graph-based solutions.
. Enable visualization through tools like Neo4j Bloom, GraphXR, or other graph visualization platforms.
. Implement access control, data lineage, and metadata management within the graph ecosystem.
. Maintain documentation of data models, workflows, and integration patterns for reusability and governance.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
. 5+ years of experience in database development, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in Neo4j.
. Strong proficiency in SQL, graph schema design, and data ingestion methods.
. Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Apache NiFi, Talend, Airflow, or custom pipelines).
. Working knowledge of Python or Java for integration scripting and API development.
. Familiarity with graph analytics algorithms (e.g., PageRank, community detection, shortest path).
. Experience working in cloud environments (AWS Neptune, GCP Graph, or Azure Cosmos DB Graph).

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $57,100.00 - $154,300.00.
