Job Summary and Qualifications

The OR Scrub Tech/Surgical Technologist assists with the nursing care of patients under the supervision of an OR Registered Nurse and functions as a sterile scrub person caring for patients undergoing surgery within the OR suite.

You will utilize principles of aseptic technique in creating and maintaining a sterile field

Demonstrate competency in scrubbing as it relates to unit scope of care

Plan and provide equipment and supplies based on patient and physician needs

Promote cost containment while delivering quality patient care within the operating room

Work as a member of the Surgical Services team to promote teamwork

You will demonstrate flexibility to perform other functions within Surgical Services and procedural areas to assist in the smooth operation of the departments and maintain competencies as appropriate

Participate in department on-call assignments and demonstrate flexibility to cover staffing as needed

What qualifications you will need:

Surgical Technology Program graduate, or equivalent training (required)

Certified Surgical Technologist and Licensed with the Commonwealth of Virginia (required)

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required)

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technician (preferred)
