The Nurse PRN LPN/RN will provide comprehensive health, wellness, and safety services to the employee population in accordance with all applicable company policies, government regulations, nurse practice standards and best practice guidelines. In all areas of practice, the occupational health nurse will act as a resource and an advocate for both employee and company to encourage the attainment of optimal health and well-being within the corporation. PRN for weekday and weekend coverage on all shifts. In this role, you will report to the Health & Safety Manager. Essential responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Implements Medical Department operations - including but not limited to the following: Conducting assessment, treatment, referral and recording of occupational and emergent non-occupational injuries/illnesses Perform medical surveillance and licensing exams, such as pre-employment, fitness for duty, powered industrial equipment, DOT physicals and OSHA required exams. Administering the policies of the occupational medical program consistent with the company's general policies concerning health services. Utilizing the necessary equipment and supplies necessary to achieve the objectives of the Medical Department and operate within budget guidelines. Administering the plant's Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Partnering with professional health resources and department supervision to place injured workers into modified/light duty assignments which meet their physical capabilities and promote rehabilitation. Interacting with on-site and community physicians, nurses, and physical therapists to promote employee health and wellness. Staying updated on knowledge of federal, state, and local laws/regulations and other best practices applicable to occupational health. Maintains all required professional licensure and certifications. Collaborates with Safety Team and Risk Management by participating in Global Safety & Health Audit process and instructing employees in ergonomic and safety education.
